Join us for a virtual watch party of the short Negra Soy - a documentary that centers on three women and a girl who, through their stories, symbolize the yearnings to get ahead in the Garífuna community of Punta Gorda, the first Garífuna community in the history of Honduras.
As we watch the film together, message with Negra Soy's director Laura Bermúdez and writer Mercy Tullis-Bukhari, and stick around for a post-screening talk back with Laura and Mercy.
Her Lens: A Short Doc Series highlights the short documentaries of three visionary womxn + filmmakers, envisions a better world, and creates a roadmap to achieving it by placing their stories in conversation with grassroot activists.
At Peace is Loud we collaborate with womxn+ changemakers to advance social justice through storytelling. We partner with global movement leaders and filmmakers on story-based campaigns that center the collective organizing power of womxn+. And through our Speakers Bureau we advocate for meaningful and equitable representation and compensation for womxn+ movement leaders in the public sphere.
